Life takes us to a lot of interesting places. It’s when we choose to embrace the experience, that ultimately leads us to unexpected relationships, personal growth, a foundation for future endeavors and so much more.
.
I worked in corporate sales/marketing for about 8 years. During that time I craved a more creative experience. I would dip my toes into different projects or opportunities in the office, trying to fulfill this need to bring something to life from a seed. .
.
Prior to this job I worked in the beauty industry with @esteelauder & @planetbeautyofficial where I thrived in the environment of caring for people; taking their skin/hair concerns and providing them with a solution I believed in. My days as a regional makeup artist allowed me to unleash my love of color (balancing, matching, blending; especially the neutrals & softer pallets !).

.
These careers taught me a lot about endurance. I knew those places were not my “end all”, I knew there was more (much more!); but I chose to embrace those seasons, to love where I was, to learn something each day and to remind myself that it’s all preparation for what’s next. .
.
If your finding yourself in one of those seasons, not wanting to ‘embrace’ because you know there’s more, your tired of being where you are.... can I just encourage you to be faithful in the waiting, to run your race bravely IN EVERY SEASON... trust me, you cannot out run a faithful God and you cannot manifest a better plan than the one HE has for you. 🙌🏼♥️🙌🏼♥️🙌🏼.

Always inspired by texture ... even when it comes to small wall covering samples. We textured the powder bath walls at #projectCDM with @phillipjeffriesltd Gris. I knew I wanted texture on the walls. It took some convincing and we truly had to weigh the pros and cons in terms of the wear & tear [[ this home is a vacation rental and this powder is a high traffic bathroom in the house ]]. But, when it came down to it, the client trusted my intuition and vision. 🎉🎉🎉 [[ see stories for installed photos ]] .

Isn’t this the truth 🙌🏼.
My life could look a lot different right now. I could be in a lifeless marriage or possibly navigating the dynamic of a separated family. My faith has carried me out of countless trials & struggles, and by the grace of God, I will continue to be carried out. Being human ain’t an easy task, we have opportunity to get wiped out and kicked on our butt each and every day. The defeat is only a threat if we believe it’s lies. .
.
Here is what defeat tries to tell me.... I’m not smart enough, I’m not lovable, my creativity isn’t good enough, no one wants to invest in me, there isn’t enough time, people will judge me, I don’t know enough and I don’t bring anything to the table. .
.
So let me tell you, wherever you are, don’t think for a second that it’s waisted space, time or energy. Respect yourself for where you are. Believe that there is more. Hope for your future growth. Pray for the heart and the endurance to run your race.

I’ll be sharing a sweet little video with y’all tomorrow... along with two special guests [[ 🧒🏼👧🏼 ]]. I hope you’ll take a minute to watch. .

If you recall, I completed my most recent project [[ #projectCDM ]] around this time last year. During the home stretch of this remodel I instinctively knew a shift was taking place in the business. The conclusion was 1 of 2 things:
.
• 1) scale this fast growing business [[ hire additional design assistants & project managers, hire an accountant or at very least a contracted bookkeeper, and figure out how to take on this overhead plus a potential lease or building purchase ]].
.• 2) put all future business on hold [[ take a “seat”, evaluate where the business should be headed, consider the cost on my family and what does this next season call for ]].
.
My stretch at this point was intense. I was maxed out, overdone, had nothing left for my kids or my husband [[ keeping in mind his growing restaurants, @sessionswestcoastdeli and the demand he has ]], my health was lacking and my soul needed rest and recharge. As a woman with a large capacity and ability to stretch, I found myself shrinking inward. .
.
This last year has been ALL ABOUT personal growth. Let me tell you, it was worth it!!! Lots of tears, heartache and awakening ... I mean, it got pretty bonkers for a while [[ you can catch a glimpse on my personal page @summermeddock ]]. But taking time for me was exactly what this girl needed. The journey is forever ongoing and I’m so thankful that I get to stand [[ and fall ]] with this guy by my side. .
.
So.... come back tomorrow and see what’s happening as of late 🙌🏼😊♥️
